Steve never wrote a bio for this site, so here is some of what we know and/or could remember-

Steve Vertigan was born in San Diego and played trombone thru-out middle and high school. He graduated from UCLA as an undergraduate and from SDSU with his masters degree. While in SD, Steve played a lot of salsa and dixieland music. He also spent a fair amount of time in Europe, and has played with improvisors in Germany and France.

Steve was a active member of NH SKO from 2002-2005, during which time he played several concerts and recorded on SKO's debut CD, as well as various other tracks that Hubbard still hasn't released. He is still a card-carrying member of the group and would be happy to whistle you the main melody of raincastle.

Currently, Steve lives with his wife Sunshine and son Xavier in Virginia. We can't be certain, but we believe he changed his last name to Vortigern.
